Found this by googling - all crab apples are edible (well not to eat as they are often bitter, but to make juice or jelly with sugar added)

Annie love the base apple for crab apple jelly.The sourer the better the finished jelly I have found :D :farmer: :wave:

Me too S and it is equal with Quince and Red / White currant.Not overly mad about Rowan Jelly though :D :wave: :farmer:

Not tried Rowan - got plenty of redcurrants growing to go with the lambs who will be off to the 'big house' in July!  :P

I did rowan jelly last year - it's yummy
