Can anyone identify this tree?
« on: May 15, 2010, 11:31:29 pm »
I planted a number of apple and plum trees when I moved in here, two years ago last week, and in the mayhem of getting me and dogs settled in our new home I didn't attach any labels.  This tree has struck me as being beautiful but until it bears fruit I have no idea what it is.  There are loads of flowers on it.  Can anyone enlighten me?

Don't know, it's supposed to have fruit - I remember checking them all to make sure they weren't just ornamental - but it's very pretty anyway!

AHA!  Maybe not ornamental - as I said I checked to make sure I'd get fruit from them all, but I've just remembered I DID buy a crab apple!  That may be what it is! Thank you - I'll let you know in a few weeks - any other ideas?

Very pretty tree, the leaves are dark. I need to buy some more fruit trees, saw some in Focus for £9, maybe we will get more than 4 apples this year!!

Yes, check the meeting up thread - about a dozen of us so far, plus some kiddie winkies too.  We should be there between 12.30 and 12.45, some others are comping about 1 ish.
