Wanted: Call Ducks
« on: May 31, 2016, 08:23:47 am »
We are looking for 1 or 2 Apricot Call females for our Apricot drake (see pic). His lady (in the pic) vanished from the nest last week along with her hatched and unhatched clutch. We think something took her - most likely mr/mrs fox.
He's not a happy chap and we'd like to get him paired up ASAP. They would be coming up for 1yr old shortly and so we would prefer a duck/s of similar age or younger.
I appreciate that its probably not the best time of year to be looking but if anyone can help with my request, I and drake would be most grateful.

You'll telling me Rosemary.
To lay eggs for 11 days, then sit on them for about 28 days without any bother and then they are taken
I know its nature and all but its frustrating none the less.
