The vet came to do a herd health plan for my Dexters (all 2 of them!) and recommended vaccinating them with Bravoxin 10.

Reading up on it, I've discovered that it can also be used for lambs and sheep - presumably in place of Heptavac P. If I could do this, it would save quite a lot of money - with the small numbers I've got, I always end up wasting a lot of a 50ml bottle.

Has anyone used Bravoxin 10 on their sheep? Any views on it, as compared with Heptavac?

I've used it on some of mine, for the same reason as you. For us, often the timing just doesn't work though.

These vaccines cover 2 categories of disease
1) Clostridial diseases
2) pasturella

HeptovacP covers pasturella which Bravoxin/Covexin doesn't
If you want pasturella cover you need to use HeptovacP

I use Hepto on the lambs as I want to cover pasturella in the autumn but then only use a clostridial vaccine on the ewes as they don't tend to suffer from pasturella and I only need them to pass on immunity for clostridial diseases to their lambs
By the time the lambs get exposure to pasturella they have had their HeptoP shots

Your pasturella threat may be heavier or come earlier and therefore it may be worth using Hepto all through the flock

There are other vaccines available for Pasturella ---Ovivac etc

So maybe the decision depends on the risk of pasturella, and I have no idea of the level of risk here - I will go back and consult my lovely vet, who rang me this morning to ask how my poorly hen was doing

 I see that BRAVOXIN is only 1ml per lamb  and after looking on line 50ml seems to be the smallest you can buy even though a 20ml is manufactured
