Can a goat eat sheep feed?
« on: April 18, 2016, 04:19:53 pm »
Just wondering if I can feed my girls and their kids the remainder of a bag of lambmaster pellets rather than waste it!

I have half a sack left,  and thinking that I could mix a little in with their normal rations?

I suspect the answer is "it's fine" but have half a memory of something to do with selinium content... can't remember if it was more of a pig/sheep issue though, rather than sheep/goat.

check the mineral levels on the web between goat and sheep feeds, and compare them with each other - that'll tell you.

Yes sheep feed is fine for goats just gradually introduce new feed so not to upset tummies to use it up. If using sheep feed long term give goats access to either goat / cattle minerals/ licks as well.

Thank you!

I just intend to put in a small handful each time to use it up :)

And I have very small hands!
