anybody fancy trying sasso x ixworth? ive got 5 sasso girls started to lay before the chop so put my ixworth boy in their and hes been working well so considering hatching some, only prob is ive been given the no more chooks ultimatum althoug it was him that gave the sassos a stay of execution![/size]anyways i can see how they hatch but they need to go elsewhere for rearing the girls were off heat by 3 weeks and outside by 5 in oct/nov im sw scotland ml12[/color]

Interesting cross, I raised some Sasso birds last year and kept some hens back for breeding, they were the slower growing Label Rouge type, it was my intention to cross them to my Indian Game but I lost them to the fox while I was working away!

What type of Sasso's do you have ?

they are brown, not sure of the strain as bought them as day olds, they are a bit thick but caught on eventually to the free range life, they are active enough though

carlisle is about an hour away j14 off m74, will have enough in a couple of days to set a batch
