First timers looking for weaners........
« on: January 26, 2016, 09:51:24 pm »
Hi

We are looking to buy maybe 4 weaners in April or May of this year and were hoping there may be someone on here who has sows in pig now, meaning their weaners would be ready at that time - and of course who is/are looking to sell...........

We are not precious as to the breed but as this will be our first foray into pig keeping we would probably find it easier to deal with the more placid breeds/crosses.

We are based in South West Scotland so if anyone within reasonable travelling distance is likely to have weaners  for sale at that time we would love to hear from you.

Ta muchly

We have 2 pedigree Tamworths currently in pig - one is due to farrow at end Feb and the other around mid/end March - so if all goes well we should have a choice of weaners ready from around mid-April onwards.

We keep the pigs outside in the woods all year round and they have done really well so far but you're welcome to come and see for yourself.

We are mid-way between Carlisle and Newcastle if that is close enough to you but if you cover the fuel cost I might be able to deliver?

Let me know if you're interested!

Hi Richard

Have tried to message you but don't seem to be having much luck - do you have any other way of being contacted?

We have just had 2 Oxford & Sandy Black sows farrow last week so we are inundated with piglets, they will be weaned towards the end of March. We live just outside Carlisle and you are welcome to come and have a look if you wish as small piglets are very cute.
From our pigs we produce sausage, gammon and bacon, which we sell locally and send all over the country.
