I don't see this TV series mentioned here.  Does no-one watch it?  Is no-one an addict?  At first I thought it was a dungeons and dragons type thing so I avoided it, but now I'm reading book 1 and watching the first season and loving it.  All apart from the wigs, which are dire.

Any other takers?

Very violent and with fairly graphic sex scenes but absolutely fabulous. I'd read the first four books so the first four series were very slightly frustrating because I was continually trying to remember what happened next. Series five I hadn't read the book and I enjoyed it even more. Can't wait for series six and seven but have no idea how he's going to tie up the many, many plot lines.

LOVE it!!

However I cannot get my head round the books. I can usually read anything but I keep picking it up and putting it down as I can't seem to get lost in the books.

Yes, the book flits around a lot which makes it harder to follow.  I shan't read the rest, even if the kindle versions weren't so dear, but just concentrate on the DVDs.  The sex scenes are not in the book, as far as I've got so far anyway.  I don't really notice them much on screen, or the violence, as I just get on with my spinning or peel an orange  :roflanim:

Who is your favourite character?  Mine are Arya and Tyrion.

My brother and I watched one episode and where completely horrified, in my opinion a disgusting series. A triple x rated one I believe. Never allowed in my house and never will be, give me the musketeers and sherlock any day. ;D

I've never seen it or read any of the books.
Fred Macaulay summed the series up simply as........'Good bit, bad bit, sex bit, battle'.

It's much better than that. The books are great and the series really does them justice, whihc can't have been easy. Brilliant production values. And a great story. You never know whe are the bad guys and who are the good guys. It's very clever.

Series two I think. The eggs at least.

I really like Tyrion but also Bronn. I hated Reek but he may have just redeemed himself :) Sansa drives me mad and I'm not sure I like how dark Arya is getting.

I'm waiting for the entire Anne McCaffrey series of books to be made into films.  Those are the best dragons ever.


I discovered the GoT dragons tonight - right at the start of season 2 and they've just hatched  :love:


Yes Bronn is excellent - just needs to raise an eyebrow.  He was also the sidekick on that Victorian police thing - something street  ::)

 Ripper Street? I didn't recognise the actor as Jerome Flynn. He's really good. Yes, one of my favourites. But the characters are so complex - you think someone is bad but then they change or vice versa. Dan hates the Petyr Baelish character but I don't. I know he's slimy but I kind of like him. And I like Varys.
