Kids already
« on: December 20, 2015, 05:59:06 pm »
Friend rang me yesterday to say she had just had her first two kids.
Nice early start with mild weather anyone else started yet?

I prefer to have mine later in the spring so the weather is (possibly) better. Probably just as well as mine don't come into season until November.

Surprised you have them that early up there, with possible colder weather. Mind you if it stays like this we can not complain. Took your advise re oral wormer was much easier and less hassle than ijections.

Got 2-3 due in next couple of weeks myself, hope they arrive before the planning inspector and my enforcement appeal

My kids don't go outside until 10 to 12 weeks old and both Lambivac and Ovipast injections are done, so it doesn't really matter if kidding early. Just needs careful feeding of the milkers. Early kidding means good size kids for the show season... and I am just getting a larger trailer.... :excited:
