I never heard them when they were both in the wooden house. Now that I have isolated one into the eglu run (still hoping to find him a new home!!) he wakes me about 7, not too bad
I did wonder what my neighbours heard when they mentioned "the sound" a week ago - they don't mind, thank goodness.

I wouldn't worry too much, Cockerels are part of the ambient sounds of the countryside. I hate the sounds of jets going over but no-one is going to stop that for me or the sound of the neighbours kids playing on the farm quad bike. Community living is all about accepting and tolerating other peoples stuff. They are lucky to have you living next to them and i bet if you asked them about that they'd agree..
