Water trough: plastic or metal?
« on: November 04, 2015, 04:10:01 pm »
Plastic is coming out cheaper than galvanised metal for a 3' trough but I'm wondering if the plastic ones are worth it.

We have horses and sheep in the field and I'm wondering if the horses might break the plastic one if they kick it.

Anyone with experience either way?

I've got these http://jfcagri.com/uk/sheep/standard-water-troughs/dt10/

Used for horses, sheep and sometimes cattle (although they're a bit small for the cows who drink A LOT). Had them five years and thye look the same as when I bought them.

Interesting.  The JFC DT20 (100 lt) was the one I was looking at.
