hey HH, how much were the weaners selling for?   (just planning my next/first trip to market!!!)
Hi egglady,
Here goes !
Saddleback x boar weaners £28
Saddleback x sow weaners £62  :o
Tamworth x weaners (the ones I missed !) £34
Large white (7 months) £40
Landrace (7 months old) £25
Kune kune x £29 - just couldn't fit them in the car either or I might have been tempted !
Large white in-pig £140 (last litter 10 piglets)
Large white working boar £65 - apparently he was 2 years old, but there were a few folks reckoning he was a good bit older than that.
And the sweetest Large black (ped & registered) sow £80

The next poultry sale is Thursday 27th May, there's a rare & minority breeds sale planned for Thursday 19th August - I'm not sure when the next pig sale will be, but I'll be watching the website and will post when I see it mentioned.

I have ONCE transported weaners in a dog crate in the back of the estate, and will never do it again... piglets were not good travellers, I leave the rest to your imagination... very smelly car indeed.... Trailer now ALWAYS.
