First ever Lamb
« on: April 04, 2010, 12:28:56 pm »
Our first ever lamb was born yesterday at about 4pm. We were with our ewe all day and were just at the point of thinking we would have to intervene when she decided it was time. He is a black shetland with a white blaze down his head and has already been named Marley.

Pictures, Andrew!
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

Juno and Jinx lambed early hours of this morning. In a repeat of last year, Jinx has a single tup lamb - but tiny compared to Bud last year. Juno had twins, tuup and ewe, but the tup lamb died just after birth despite my best efforts at CPR. The ewe lamb is also very small but both ewes have loads of milk and seem to like thei lambs so fingers crossed. It's a miserable day so thank goodness for the shelter - it's been a God send.

Just off for a wee look.
