...it is a bit of a yawn - lots of standing around ... and you do look like a bit of a perv to any passers by! ;)

Its a good idea if you know the ram has a lot of work to do. Ideally, twice, morning/afternoon etc in reverse ewe order the second time

I'll have to see if I can book a day off work to try that one ha. If not I'm sure 2 rams with 10-12 will be ok

I see the first comment is £5 per ewe - seems quite expensive ?

Depends how much your time is worth when it comes to hanging around at lambing time!  For those of us who work full time, sponging is a godsend, you just have to factor it into your costings.

Hi Harmony

Yes - sponges all in at the same time.  Would need to check back my diary to be sure but I think I took sponges out of first two and they went in after 36 hrs, and there was a day between each.  I know a ram lamb could probably have coped with six but was worried he would latch on to a couple of the most tarty ones (two spring to mind!) and might miss one out lol.   Worked well anyway.

Foobar - like the pen idea

This year thinking all in at 36 hrs

£5 per ewe a lot of the time giving twins instead of singles....week off work as holiday 99% of lambs survive going to before an after work 70% survive
