Field shelter for goats
« on: September 16, 2015, 04:31:29 pm »
I have a decent stable for my angora goats when the weather is really rough but as it is usually pretty mild here tend to let them onto the paddocks most of the year.  As I am about to get 3 more, need to use another paddock. Ideally I would like a simple off the shelf shelter for day use and nights when not too cold. Any ideas?

I've just finished one in my top field.

Four posts dug in, rails and old wiggly tin on the roof, back and one side.  The other side and front will have an old gate and hurdles as they become available.  It's in a sheltered corner, 12' x 8'.

lol…
being honest, we are building a business, so not trying to sound snobbish, but we want the place to look nice, and try to get a good reputation , please believe me i am really not being a snob…but as we all know, if it looks good, it will attract customers

our main flock, will be goats, but we will also run a small flock of sheep, along with a few pigs...

Thank you all. So I have gone for a Solvay recycled plastic ark for the 'occasional ' paddock and a Redmire small animal shelter for the over winter paddock.  I got the one with the higher height option which make it a good buy compared with their large field shelters.  Only problem now is all the chasing around sorting them in less convenient places until the shelters arrive.   :goat:
