Kerreich, that looks a cracking run. In hindsight I'd have gone for the square posts, easier to attach mess and doors, yours looks a really well put together place and interesting to hear about the granite sand. We'll see what mess the chicks make. We're on clay soil so I think either sand or wood chip is likely. We'll be buying a wood chipper next year as we've to make a start on clearing the old coppice so chips won't be in short supply

I would have been inclined to do 3 strands of tight plain wire and hog ringed the wire on flat. Good to see people going to great efforts for their chooks.

Winkhound, I tried using hog rings but couldn't get them round the wire and the mesh, not quite enough give to get them all in the ring.
