So did anyone watch lambing live lastnite?
I found it very interesting, i dont really no much about sheep, it is typical how the sheep dont lamb when wanted tho  its always the case!
Good job they have lots of prerecorded stuff to show!

I've sky+ it!
I watched some of it but it looks too laid back to be a "real" lambing!! No mad rushes, or the mad panic to check everyone has water and hay! Or the mad 3 minutes trying to revive a weak lamb!
Maybe that's just our farm!!!

I'm watching it now and it looks good.  The Farmer looks like he's taken to many drugs in the past - he's almost horizontal!

Great programme,,,,i have no intention of keeping sheep,,,,but liked it all the same,,,,especially Kate Humble

Its good to see more programmes like this appearing recently....gives us mad folk something to watch with "interest" rather than phone in dance/sing competitions 

I agree though MR Bevan is sooooo laid back....wonder whats growing in his polytunnel

Yes been watching it with my OH who does not know that much about sheep although he has helped me lamb a ewe. I do think it is good for the public to see what a farmer does, how much thought and work goes into sheep and lambs. Bearing in mind a lot of children and people only see lamb in the supermarket. I would no be surprised if all the lights TV crew etc put the sheep off and they wait until all is quite. Also good to show the life and death and how much it affects the farmers. As it is an all year round job, often 24, 7 caring for all farm animals maybe the public will think a bit more on where their food comes from but don't hold your breath.

Sabrina A local school approached Dave and asked if they could bring a class of 8/9 year olds to the Estate to see some animals.The stock manager asked this little chap Do you know where your milk comes from/Yes he replied Netto its 99p there and £1.53 at the other supermarkers.Next time Dave He is the Estates farms manager George do you have time to assemble some where does it come from DVD's for me When these kids come I can give the teacher some and they can look at them at school.We did this and Did Sheep in the field the lambing pens,lambs,taking fat lambs to market and Morrisons butcher make leg o mutton and lamb chops.I had to go to Springthorpe to do milk They only have beef cattle at Brockelsby.No pigs either.When I next see John Godfrey I will ask him if I can go to his unit there is some 30,000 there to choose from.We did sugar beet seed to sugar via the factory at York.I shall have to find out who the new man is at CVF for Ducks Its amazing what the children think things come from Ill do a new page

continuing Sabrina When I was at Low Farm A pal came round to help me erect an antenna and brought along his little girl a 6 year old who of course had to go play with the 2 porkers We couldn't find her when it was home time she was asleep with them intheir house it was ever so good Daddy can we come again? they came several times When it was time to kill the pigs I took Alan a joint of pork a fry and some sausages .Later Yolande asked me where I got the sausages from So I explained to her she was most upset and asked Why couldn't you go and get some from the butchers like every one else in stead of killing those lovely pigs I HATE YOU

Yes I'm watching it, I'm surprised Kate Humble seems so naive when she has spent 6 months training at the farm? I understand why she got so upset last night, I still do when soemthing doesnt make it, but the rest of the time she seems a little clueless? I enjoy any programme like that, I admire that couple coping with 900 ewes, I reckon they work bloomin hard!
