oops ....not dead after all.
« on: March 04, 2010, 11:46:25 am »
Its not funny really, but I did have a little giggle.

My friend got a phone call from another friend, to say the husband of another friend had died suddenly.  Obviously my friend rang a few people to tell them the sad news, and then sat sobbing all morning about the sad loss.  The man who had informed her of the death, sent a letter of condolance to the the widow.  Thats when he got a call to say her husband was alive and kicking!!

It seems, when she rang in the first place, he had misheard, and it was in fact her nephew who had died, not husband.  My friend said she had to make a few hasty phone calls rectifying the mistake.  I said I am sure the friend will appreciate the fact that she sobbed all morning for him .......

so, the moral of this story is to be sure of your fact!!!
