Looking for fertile eggs Durham.
« on: July 14, 2015, 10:38:41 pm »
Hi all,
One of my hens (cream legbar) has went broody and I'm after some eggs to put under her so my little ones can watch them hatch. Would prefer Legbar or Marans as that's what's already in the run.
Thanks Rob.

Probably not much help, but I've got a nice big Marans cockerel you can have for free if you collect him.  Then you can fertilise your own IYKWIM  :D  We're in Cleveland, just a bit south of Middlesbrough.

Your CLB hasn't been looking at the calendar!  CLB's are not usually a broody breed and she may not complete the 21 days.  She should be moulting now, not sitting.  Fertility is liable to be declining at this time of year.

Nip into your local livestock market, buy some hatching eggs and take your chance :fc:
