We took the car & caravan to North Wales close to Snowdonia total trip of 703 miles in which we used 67 litres of fuel . We use our handy domestic plug in charger whenever possible .

Initially dragging the caravan up & down some impressive hills hammered the drive  battery & used some fuel but nowhere as much as we thought it would. Coming back home we used even almost three litres less fuel than going .

Free running without the caravan but with the three  of us in it and also having my electric buggy in the back, the car gave us a much better return than usual. For by now both of us have got used to the car and have developed our own techniques for driving it.

Does it tow well? Whats the towing capacity on it?

It tows up to 1500 kg under nearly all conditions .
Our caravan is rated at 1248 kg but runs to about 1450 kg when laden , we had no problems.
Getting used to the new way of driving the car is something you want to get under your belts before you start to tow as the magnetic braking effect given by the regenerating system is not very much when the drive  battery is still fully charged & that can take you by surprise early on .
We each put a full tank of fuel and numerous battery charges through the car before we towed the caravan so we were not too taken aback by the differences but the reduction in braking did surprise us initally.

Sounds very interesting, I always like something greener for the environment but it's hard to get something green that tows too. I had 4x4 mini for a while but it hated towing my sheep and goats. Might have to pop into Mitsubishi for a test drive :excited:

Till recently the government paid for a heavier duty charger to be supplied & fitted at your home with up to 5 mtrs of wiring , this scheme may or may not be restarted .

Currently your looking at up to £1k ish to get one purchased & fitted by a registered & qualified electrician as it takes a 16 amp fusing unit which is often added using a splitter box both sited in the external meter box .

The car also comes with a lighter duty one which usually puts 32 miles of run time in the drive battery in about five and a half  hours ( varies with which type of Hybrid you get) .
