That's one of the most informative posts I've read in a long time, thanks Sally. I'll give the condition scoring a try. The ewes are due to be sheared soon if they haven't been sold, is it best to attempt the condition scoring before or after shearing?

It'll be easier to score them after shearing, but you can do it before if you want.
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
