Just received an email from Ruth Dalton at RBST to say that there is a small but genetically important flock of Boreray sheep for sale in the North of Scotland. Because of the rarity of this breed and the genetic importance of this small flock, it is important that it goes to someone who is experienced in keeping Borerays or other primitive sheep breeds and who is committed to maintaining a pure breeding programme.
The flock consists of two tups, one six years old and one five years old, plus two 2014 tup lambs; 1 7yr ewe, 2x 5yr old ewes, 1x3yr old ewe, 1x2yr ewe, 2 ewe lambs born 2014, and a wether, kept as a companion sheep when needed. Lambs due next month.
The current owner would prefer that they go together as a flock and the right home is more important than timing.
If you are interested in these sheep, please contact Ruth at ruth@rbst.org.uk
