Disappointed - no ducklings by the look of it.
« on: May 15, 2015, 11:31:50 pm »
I don't know what has happened but apart from two which were still liquid and I've thrown out tonight, it looks like the  others had started, as there are large dark areas with large air sacs.  But I'm almost certain I put them in on 17th April, so if they were going to hatch they'd be a lot further on.
They are all exactly the same and I can see no movement at all.  I'm sad  :'( :'(

Should I leave them a  bit longer?

I'd leave them. If your temperature is even a little bit low it can extend the incubation period.
Our holding has Anglo Nubian and British Toggenburg goats, Gotland sheep, Franconian Geese, Blue Swedish ducks, a whole load of mongrel hens and two semi-feral children.

did you leave the lid open a bit by mistake some time? i did this with turkey eggs the other day, turned the eggs and went back to turn them again hours later to find the lid hadnt quite been put on right. the temp had gone down to about 20 degrees and had been like it for hours :(

Didn't open the incubator at all from setting till switching off the turner, opened it briefly twice since then to add water/damp pads - heat may be a little low.  I was worried it was too warm and I'd fried them  :( :'(
How long shoudl I leave them?

If I'm right about setting them on the 17th they should be pecking their way out now, but still no sign. :(
