Hello

My husband and I have just moved to a 2acre holding near Colne/Skipton. The land is overgrown at the moment, but we've got big plans (who doesn't!). We've started with chickens but hope to keep pigs and ducks next year too, as well as creating a decent kitchen garden. Looking forward to some advice, and perhaps even to meet up with others in a similar situation. Does anyone know of a meetup group for smallholders/pig keepers/self sufficiency nearby?!

Excited and a little overwhelmed!

Hello from your neck of the woods - soon to move near Cowling.  Check out a group run by Myerscough college which Stanley house vets sometimes give talks (sorry this is a bit vague!!) - We've been to a couple of talks 2 years ago which were informative.

Hello and welcome from Mid Wales. It sounds exciting for you, congrats! What animals were you thinking of starting off with? breeds etc, etc.
