Missing Pig!
« on: February 05, 2010, 10:19:06 am »
One of our 13 week old Berkshire pigs has gone missing. The perimeter fencing all looks intact. There is a possibility it may have been stolen.

We had poultry stolen last year. So if anyone hears of anyone trying to sell a Berkshire or has heard any rumours could you please let us know? We are in Angus in Scotland.

Please report it to your local police, it really helps when your trying to find out whos done these things when you get all the reports. For all you know someone suspicous may have been stopped near your place over night? If not a pig might have turned up somewhere else!

Hi Rob

We reported it to the police. They hadn't heard of anything as yet but at least it is on record as you say.

Don't hold your breath (that sounds worse than its meant to), realistically your pig is probably sausages by now. There are those you don't need abattoirs and butchers. I could nearly hazard a guess, but it wouldn't be P.C

I didn't think about the insurance, I will go and check our policy. Thanks Hilarysmum.

I really hope you are, if nothing else at least the financial loss will be lessened.  People (some people) are so incredibly unthinking, just take what you want and damn the rest.

That is terrible. I live on the other side of Angus to you and it seems so unlikely that anyone would act like that locally. But we had a chainsaw stolen last year and it must have been someone who knew where we kept it hidden as there was no damage.
I hope that you at least find out what has happened and the person responsible is caught.
