Reseeding the pig pen
« on: January 28, 2010, 03:53:44 pm »

When my girls went in September I had intended resting the pen until about April/May, but ended up taking in 2 more for a friend. They are due to go on Monday leaving me with mud half way up the wellies. As it has just been so muddy for so long I have not been able to clean up behind these pigs as I did with the last ones. How long should I leave pen to rest and should I try to reseed it or should I just plant things that pigs will eat and that will grow quickly. I do not really have anywhere else that is suitable for pigs.

Ideally leave for at least a year;  this will reduce worm infestation.
