Another newbie here!
« on: January 27, 2015, 12:54:49 pm »
Hi, I discovered this forum the other day - thanks for adding me.

We moved onto our smallholding last September - it's our retirement project, although my partner is still working atm. I've got a few sheep, due to lamb in March, and will be adding hens once the weather improves. I'm looking forward to being able to share experiences and to learn from everyone with more knowledge and experience than me (which will be most of you!).

Welcome from Cumbria

Guessing from the username that you are not so very far away from me?  And/or have some nice native breed ponies?   :D
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

We're in the Derbyshire Dales, Mad Goatwoman, so quite a way away from you!

I've currently got a tiny flock of sheep (2 Shetland and one Shetland/texel cross ewes and a texel tup). The ewes are in lamb so I'm looking forward to having little ones skipping about the field next month.

Also a few chickens - Orpingtons and Wyandottes, who are just starting to lay again after their winter lay-off.

I do have horses here as well - currently breaking in my cob to harness so he can earn his keep!  ;D
