Scottish black face X texel

Has anyone got any experience with this cross? I've been offered some 4 year old ewes in lamb to a blue face an want to keep the mule ewe lambs as replacements but I have a texel ram so next year will have texel X lambs they will only be sold for meat lambs

i have a few blackies and have crossed them to texel, they wont grow as quick as the normal but ended up decent enough carcass and were only a few weeks behind the texel lambs, i also had a few blackie X texels that i grew into replacements...real good mothers, blackies are good mothers anyway

Have hundreds of them , very popular x  in Scotland , tough sheep just don't over feed them as they tend to put on condition easily

 :wave: as shep says . just about any meat tup over the blackie will give you a decent lamb that will also make a decent ewe . as long as your land isnt to harsh u could easy get another couple years out them
