Old recipes tonight
« on: January 13, 2010, 09:27:24 pm »
So did you watch Ruth Mott tonight? I didn't fancy the salt cod recipe at all Although I put stinging nettles in with the parsley to make the Lincolnshire stuffed chine I have not tried nettles as a vegetable Nettle Soup is very edible as is nettle beer. The plum canning was interesting but finding a canner today is a problem They are about in USA and in China but quite costly here so are the cans and lids.Since the same results can be achieved with a Kilner Jar,I do several jars of plums and tomato every season along with gooseberry black and red currants I think they are far superior to frozen. :farmer:
Don't do today what can be put off until tomorrow because today will be yesterday tomorrow
