Petrol log splitter

Hi, looking for so advice on a new log splitter I am thinking of buying, 5.5hp petrol log splitter, where to buy, what is the best make and how much should I pay.

Hiya,  Must it definitely be petrol?  We hired a petrol splitter for a weekend and found the noise and fumes a real pain. The next time, we borrowed an electric splitter (this model, but with an electric motor) which was very nearly as quick and SO much more pleasant to use.


Personally, unless I really needed off-grid portability, or was splitting REALLY big gnarly logs, I'd go for the electric every time. HTH!

Hi, needs to be petrol as there is no power I also have lots of spares and 5.5hp engines.

Fair enough - just thought it was worth mentioning though!
 
I've used a couple of the Balfour splitters and can recommend as well made pieces of kit.
