sheep inspection tomorrow
« on: December 10, 2014, 08:57:42 pm »
Hi guys
Just a quick question, had a phone call out of the blue today, saying that we have been chosen for a sheep inspection , random apparently. But we have not had sheep for 2 and a half years.
Explained that, but no still coming down the farm.
We had 20 sheep in total, had them slaughtered within 4 months of purchasing.
Have got all our movement sheets from purchase, but mislaid my paperwork when sheep actually went in for slaughter.
Anybody had one of these inspections.
Thank you ruth

Get any paperwork you have to hand ---if you're missing some then try to produce a 'substitute' piece of paper with the relevant details on
Be polite , ask them to disinfect their boots before coming on the farm and offer them a cup of tea

They just have to tick boxes and if you help them do it they will make life easy for you

I have had inspections a few years ago but not when I havnt had any stock!

Not sure how one would work now as would have to drive around all day seeing where everything is!

I'm amazed you had an inspection Tim W. Around here sheep numbers are inversely proportional to chances of inspection.

Sounds like Animal Health / Trading Standards.  They will just want to check your historic paper work.  Don't worry, they are usually very nice and helpful. :)

Hence pretty much guaranteed to get an inspection having no sheep!

Hi guys
Thanks for all the replies.
Had a little ticking off for not having 1 piece of paperwork from a 20 year old lol (found most of them after)
When I asked what she was looking for (just incase you claim I was told, as there is an expression of interest in regarding the sfp) - yes ok I reply " but I have no sheep and not claiming"
Well I will just do the paperwork regarding you dont have any ????????????
What can you say lol !!!!!!!!!
