I'm looking for recommendations for a new torch.
I'm thinking of a 'clulite'  not sure either classic or clu-briter.
I need something with a good beam to check the sheep across the field.

Any experiences appreciated.  I've got some birthday money to spend and want to get one that will last.

It's a great torch, when charged the beam will let me check our 6 acre paddock corner to corner.


Have heard good things about the trigger Clu-Briter too, don't think you can go wrong with the brand.

We have Clulite CLU10's and they have a great beam for distance. Lightweight as well. But bits are regularly failing. New batteries only last a couple of years, switch rubbers wear through, wires internally often get disconnected if the torch is dropped, bulbs pop annoyingly frequently and are awkward to fit. Spares are easy to get though and we bought a better battery on-line with a slightly bigger capacity.


We are looking for something a bit more durable based on the new generation single LED's.

Been using it for over a year now and no real complaints.  Good beam, batteries last well, pretty tough, rain proof, also provides a good spread of light.  As far as I know it is a sealed unit so nothing is replaceable, but to date nothing has broken either!

Clulite now do a rechargeable with 500m range built around an LED, but it's £70 +VAT. The CLU10 only has 300m range but it's £33 +VAT. Both have 4 hours usage before recharging.

I'll probably get the clu-liter,   I had a play with one last evening as was impressed with the beam.
500m would be more than I need, nothings flat enough to see that far in daylight.

I have been through a few of the 'heavy duty' re-chargable torches over the years and either myself of SWMBO have killed them off. That is except this one which after 2 years has bounced down the concrete many a time and throws a huge beam out to +200 yards.
