dont give up on a dead chick!
« on: September 08, 2014, 07:24:00 pm »
well this morning I found a newly fluffed up chick had fell out of the nest, he looked very dead :gloomy:. But he was still soft so I decided I would try and revive him, after a few mins he started to twitch and within a few hours of sitting wrapped up and propped up by the Aga he was chirping away and very much alive! I couldn't believe it

Well done!
Never had to revive a chick but did something similar to a near drowned duckling last year and it made it after I carried it into the greenhouse to warm it up and then kept it under my T-shirt for an hour (we don't have an Aga  :roflanim: ) .

ah well yes I know exactly what it is... it is one of my exhibition Barred Wynadottes LOL! I wont make the mistake of leaving the small door open to the run again so close to hatching!

its looking like this is my first BLUE BARRED Wyandotte bantam, I'm rather pleased I managed to save his/her life!
