A poem
« on: November 23, 2009, 11:41:05 am »
below is a poem by my cousin....I think it is extremely good .

NIGHTIME

Wolves howling
Owls hooting
The wind was a ghost talking
Through our midnight sleep
Twigs snapping as hedgehogs walked over them

Whoosh! The wind blew silent as it approached my window
I felt alone in a room closing in on me
I smelt smoke from a bonfire down the street
Branches cracking
Trees napping
Twigs snapping in our midnight sleep
Whoosh! the wind blew silence

Wolves howling
Owls hooting
The wind was a ghost talking
Through our midnight sleep
Silence approached me
Suddenly twigs snap
Whoosh! the wind blew silence

He is 10 years old !!!! brilliant .....

cheers

Russ

I think he may have a great writing future ahead of him Russ, great talent at such a young age.

yes I think you are right James , Sylvia . I couldn't write anything like that , even if my life depended on it.
I admire anyone who has the word ability, and feeling , to write such good poetry . But a 10 year old ...blimey ....I just hope he continues with it , such a shame not to use such talent.

cheers

Russ

Thats very nice, I love working with children they come out with some profound stuff, when they get older they are more cautiouse of what they do and say, they tend to copy thier peers, so, really hope he continues.
