It drives me up the wall that Stirling and Carlisle are on the same day.  It takes me the same time to get to either, pretty much to the minute. I am hoping to get to the Lanark sale too for education purposes, so far my knowledge of shetlands extends to the fact I think they look sweet.

Sorry, am whittering, trying to fill the time waiting for my shetlands!

We struggled to tell a Shetland from anything else the first year.  Then we went up to the Shetland Isles and they were EVERYWHERE  :roflanim:

So, I bought a black 1-crop ewe and her black gimmer lamb (I need more black fleece in my flock, and these are *really*, proper, full-on black :)), and a tup lamb whose colour, jaykay tells me, is called 'musket katmoget' although to the untutored eye (mine) he looks like a grey katmoget.

I love them already :)  But pics are a problem - I have them indoors while they settle and learn to love me.  Black sheep are hard to photograph at the best of times, and Chad (the tup lamb) is perfectly camouflaged for the peeling once-whitewashed hemel walls!

(mowhaugh, you have Chad's mum, the moorit katmoget who looks like she's smiling.)

Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

They are lovely!

Ours have now arrived, but I have had to force my very excited children indoors to allow the poor wee things a bit of time to settle in.  Hope to have photos later, we are all completely smitten.
