I know loads and loads about my mums side (very interesting) of my family and very little about my dads side, not even sure where he was born. I have been on loads of trace family tree sights and some want subsciptions, I have paid for 2 but they do not show much, I know my Grandads DoB and my Grandmas DoB where they got married and Deaths and where she was born/married etc but nothing on Grandad....Other forum users may have some good sites cheap but preferably free, I may have tried them but never mind..Any help would be good Thanks.....

My o/h is adopted, and has traced most of his natural family, so I'll ask him (thats a whole other story!)
The only ones I can think of are 'ancestry' or 'genes reunitited'
Have you tried your grandad's local council offices, church and places like that.
One piece of advice though, check everything twice!

I use Scotland's people - £6 for 30 credits, each page is one credit, a document is 5.  I've found quite a lot of information and my daughter and sister go on it too.  We all know each other's log in codes so we can check we aren't duplicating and wasting credits.  I don't know what the site would be for England.  I have a feeling that each Parish keeps its own records and it's more difficult to trace ancestors for that reason than it is in Scotland.

Between trying to sell our old house and buying this one we lived in a caravan for a year, so had a bit of time on my hands and decided to research our family trees.  Had great fun and really interesting.

I joined Ancestry.  For me they were the best.

Still got my subscription so if you want me to look anything up sandy send me a pm with whatever details you have already.  Can't promise to be quick, but when I have a few moments I will have a go.

Thanks, I'm getting a bit fed up and mixed up now, heres what I know so far

My Dad was born in Leicestsershire somewhere 31 October 1920

His mum was Mary Cleaver nee/Whittaker  born in Lancashire in 1880 Died in Leicester I think around 1984.

His dad died in his early 40's (unsure what age) at the time of his death I think they lived in Leicestershire, Narborough

They had  4 children

Edward (not too sure) he died aged 4
Thomas
Beatrice
David, my father
My mother in law showed me a record of their marrage in June 1905 in CHORLTON

I found they were living in Gorton Chorlton in the 1911 census with the elder 2 children
I am not sure how the Cleavers came to go to Lancashire, I do know they were plumbers, as was my dad, and also when they moved back to Narborough.

As a child I grew up in Narborough Leicestershire and only knew of one of my fathers cousins, an Architect called Phill Cleaver, may still be living but was going to retire to Arran.

This computor is going wobbly so I cannot do a spell check, thanks, if you find anything it would be great but otherwise wounderful offer... :)

Found some more today, I have a postcard photo of my gran and two of her three children, one my dad, the photo was taken after the death of her husband, and included her older brother who was visiting. The postcard was addressed to the brother and comments were made about the lovely view, the birds and the trees and ended with a "for all we have been through xxx" that made me wounder then, I looked at the 1881 census and found there were mum dad and seven children, yet in the 1891 census, no father and only two of those children plus another younger brother, all those deaths in 20 years and the reason she mentioned the wildlife was she had lived most of her adult life in Manchester!! Interesting stuff.   zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzwhops, sorry to bore  you all ;)

They are not JUST cardboard boxes.  They are germ free and have a waterproof coating, as well as roll bars so the pups don't get crushed to death. Worth every penny in my opinion.  After all you will get £400 a pup, £40 is a tenth of one pup.
