Okay, so I have to now admit to having a high IQ too -I'm former member of Mensa, was invited to join after filling out one of their tests, got a score of 188 !  ;D That however, was before my brain melted when I was pregnant  ;D don't know if it's ever properly recovered  ;D
But, after doing more research on the polar bear thing - seems I got that bit of info wrong  :-[ But apparently it's a widely believed myth due to lots of things they do.
Writing (and smoking  :-[) are the only things I do left handed, for everything else it's my right I use. My dad (a rightie) taught me to play guitar and when the school heard I played they went and got me a left handed guitar - never been so confused in all my life  ::)
Anyway, I do know that long ago left handed people were believed to be satanic (most 'witches' were left handed) and the tying of the left hand behind one's back to make the person right handed was common practice - glad we've moved on a bit since then  ;)

Yes - a lot of left handed people were burned at the stake - their high
sensitivity, IQ, intelligence, visionary skills scared the locals to believe
that they had magic powers or were "witches" so they got rid of them.

The traits of left handed people are:-

Intuitive ::)
Empathetic ::)
Visual-Spacial Abilities
Lateral Thinking :o ;D
Hot Tempered ;D ;D
Solitary ;D
Iconoclastic ???
Self-taught ;D
Experimental ;D
Fantasist ::)

These traits help them to see differently to right handed people and also see future trends, future problems, and be prepared for new things quicker - probably why theres so many of us smallholders that are left handed. ;D ;D ;D

I wonder how muslims go on if they are left handed as they have to use their left for certain things?

Iconoclastic ???
Definition of Iconoclastic :
1. One who attacks and seeks to overthrow traditional or popular ideas or institutions.
2. One who destroys sacred religious images

Definately not me  ;D
Nor am I hot tempered (Honest  ;))
But everything else sounds about right LOL!  ;D

I watched a programme once about twins, they claimed that left handed people started life in the womb as a twin, but the other twin never developed? How true that is I've no idea ;)
Both of my twins are right handed and my father whose twin died before birth is right handed so no help there then.
My eldest daughter who is left handed and dyslexic is incredible, SENSITIVE, CREATIVE, HIGHLY INTELLIGENT. Got it all from her right handed mother though!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

As for it running in families.. it doesn't in mine!  My uncle is a lefty (but adopted) my Father in law is, but nobody else I can think of on that side.
And how come I missed out on the 'Spatial abilities' and lateral thinking?!

Well it seemed to be family oriented with us.  My twin Aunts were/are both left-handed, My grandma was too, my Mum was but was forced to write with her right hand so became ambidextrous.  My sister and I are both right handed, but my elder grand-daughter is left handed.  Not sure about the wee one as yet but my grandson is right handed.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

Weird word intelligence. You are clearly intelligent! unlike some of the powerful people in the world Some of the U.S. Presidents seem to have been a little lacking on the old grey matter. Probably a good job too. They might have been more dangerous. :D

official right handed but am ambidextrace, uses what ever hand, side, foot extra is closes to the object. Btw another when of them facts is that left handedness has a link with dyslexic and colour blindness (only person in my blood family (that i know) lefty was my granddad and little T is left handed) Who idea of spelling his name is to put the letters anywhere on a page, but as he wrote them in the correct order it's correct lol.
If am supertired i can write a word at the same time with both hands and mirror them.

How many people can pick stuff up with their feet/toes ? am better at that with my left side then right side

Last tested my IQ was 129 just above average (in uni) mum had her tested (many moons ago) and was invited in to messa at IQ of 149

I've heard that too, but not sure how much I believe it. However, I would add that I was a twin, but my twin was miscarried only weeks into the pregnancy (it took a few weeks after that for mum to actually realise that she was still pregnant).

Dyslexia does run in our family too, mum was originally left handed, and is dyslexic, my brother is strongly left handed, and is really badly dyslexic- he never managed to pass A level English because of it. He only managed to get his degrees, because of my mum and his girlfriend doing about 20 spell checks on his dissertations. I also have dyslexia, but only really mildly.
