WELL

Hello Happy Hippy,

ooohh and intelligent ones ARE lefthanded - I have a book that PROVES it

Its called "A left handed history of the World" :o

All these people are or were left-handed:-  Bill Gates, Lewis Carroll, Mark Twain, Paul McCartney, Jimi Hendrix, Beethoven, Queen Victoria, Ramses the Great, Michaelangelo,
Mahatma Gandi, Issac Newton, Julius Caesar, Joan of Arc, Leonardo Da Vinci, Raphael,
Charlie Chaplin, Henry Ford, Napoleon, Marie Curie

Any other members left handed that wanna join our famous club        :o ;D ;D

ALSO do you know that there is a link with ADHD and Left handedness, something to do with being intelligent and hormones and right side brain functions.  THeres a lot of other interesting facts about left handers too in my book. ::) 8)

I didn't know that Julie, but Kaitlin's definately a righty  ???
I'm the only left handed person in my family  ;D
But us lefties are most definately more creative IMHO.
The one thing that annoys me is when people say to me "Oh, what lovely writing you've got, for being left handed"  ??? Does it make a difference ?
I'm going hunting for that book now, sounds like something I need - unlike left handed scissors, cutlery and guitars  ;)

I went to one somewhere on holiday when I was a kid, I remember buying a left handed ruler, with 0 at the opposite end and driving my teacher crazy!
Can anyone actually use left handed scissors?!

Love the Idea of a left handed Ruler!

My daughter who is almost 6 was at ball class last week where they had the chance to have a try out at hockey.  She just couldn't get the hang of it at all - I wondered if it was because she was left handed so I asked the teacher if they had a left handed stick she could try only to be told that they wern't allowed to use them any more.... Oh well I had better get her to try tennis instead!

I'm right handed and hated hockey at school - what does that mean?
Two of my daughters are lefties and my Gran was too. But she had her hand tied behind her back until she learnt to write with her right!
Did you know that is not just hands that are dominant left or right, It can be feet, ears, eyes
Footballers have to know whether they are left or right footed to be able to train well.

My Mum became ambidextrous because she was forced to write with her right hand as well.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

I am left handed, and its because of that, that I think I have a hight IQ.  although my OH says I have no common sense.

It took me ages to learn to knit ......the teacher went mad cos I seemed to sew backwards.  If I write on a page, I have a massive margin.  I am pretty certain if I use a tin opener, I sort of open it backwards.  I find it hard to write cheques, as my left hand covers half the cheque ......on the other hand (excuse the pun) I am only left handed for writing, other things definitely use the right one.

Roxy, you can ask your bank for a left handed cheque book. We provide them for our customers.

I am kind of left handed. I was left handed originally, however, was given the BGC at 2 years old. That wasn't too much of an issue, but they skin tested me afterwards "to make sure it had taken" and I couldn't use my hand or arm. That combined with the fact that I wanted to be like my sisters, made me learn to write with my right hand. However, I can now write legibly with both!

I watched a programme once about twins, they claimed that left handed people started life in the womb as a twin, but the other twin never developed? How true that is I've no idea ;)

WOW - I have a high IQ too :o ???
I didn't learn to knit until I was 24 because nobody I knew could show me properly, then I met a friend who was left handed and she taught me, and now I am a brilliant knitter and do lots of fair isle and pictures in my knitting - I love it . ;D ;D

I am only left handed for writing too, I can play pool quite good as a right hander - and used to be a bit of a hustler in my 20's.

Seems there's more to being left handed than even my book suggests - knitting, high I.Q. etc, I find this really interesting. ::)
The teachers at school tried to change me to write with my right hand, and my Mum told my Doctor, who wrote a letter to the school saying that there was nothing wrong with left handers and changing in at 5 years old could cause brain damage so to leave me alone. ;D ;D ;D
