Another Newbie here.  We moved into our new home/partners old home late last summer, and haven't really got started yet on the 12 acre site - there's a lot to do, fences need sorting, field shelters and barn etc.

We are hoping to plant 1-2 acres of woodland this year and to eventually get into alpaca's, wild flower meadows and offering space for bees, via some Shetland cattle, maybe.  In the meantime the land is rented for sheep and a few wayward cows.  We are enjoying our homemade cider and the veg patch is filling up (after saying we wouldn't have time to grow veg this year).

The other-half is an experienced farmer, I can tell the front-end from the back-end of a sheep and that's about it.  So, I'm looking to learn.  My biggest achievement to date is taming last year's crop of feral kittens to whisk them down to the vets to get their mojo's removed.  The little blighters have ripped my hands to bits, but I guess I deserved it.

I can tell the front-end from the back-end of a sheep and that's about it.

That is essential - so you are halfway there! It's also good to remember that the legs are supposed to point downwards...  ;)

Welcome to the forum.  :sunshine:

Welcome to our world

Oh and please don't forget the bumblebees  :bee: :bee: :bee: :bee: :bee: if it's honey bees you mention in your intro .  A list should soon appear on the main TAS site of which flowers, both wild and garden,  bumblebees love.  Many are the same as for honey bees, but not all.
