Going off line next week
« on: October 08, 2009, 06:31:51 pm »
I am going into hospital on Tuesday for a Knee Operation so will not be around for a few days. I had an MRI scan the other day and I have 2 tears in my cartilage. I had the same op on the other knee over a year ago. Then and this time I think the damage has been caused by me falling putting the ducks to bed. It gets so bamned muddy when we get rain week after week and I fell 3 times over the "summer" months. I am looking forward to a few days rest in bed though, ha ha ha.

I hope you do rest!!!!! I had a hip operation in 2004, my hip had been dislocated from birth so the muscles had to be stretched, I was great for a while but I keep tearing the large bum muscle and going back to square 1, done it 3 x's now.  I am now soooooo careful and try to always wear sensible shoes...me and the ice do not go together ;) ;)Have a quick recovery!!!!

Good luck from me too James  ;D
Remember once it's done if they tell you to rest for a while - make sure you DO actually rest to let it heal properly, don't want you doing any more damage. Okay, lecture over, hope it all goes well.  :-*

Maybe you should treat yourself to a laptop or a notebook laptop.  Then we can keep you informed as to what is happening in the world and possibly keep you sane.  Good luck AND REST. Ros  :cat: :chook:

Hey, it's only old ladies like me that are supposed to fall about and break things.  No more footie with the local kids, James!  Take care, look forward to seeing you back on here soon! ;D ;D

I have a lap top but unfortunately we use this in the bar to play the music through, besides I do not get strong wireless coverage in my bedroom. I should be able to get on and see how you all are by the end of the week. Thanks everyone for your very kind good wishes. This will be both knees done after falling looking after the animals - next time will likely be my neck!

Will be thinking of you James, I hope that it isn't too sore.
My advice would be homeopathic arnica tablets. Nelson's homeopathic arnica 30x
My Dad broke his back a few years back in France and I sent him some. It is used as a mainstream medicine there and even though he would never normally use anything like it, he took it to keep my quiet and then commented on how quickly he healed and that the nurses thought that the arnica had been very useful.
I apologise if i'm preaching to the converted.
Anyway take care and I hope you do manage to enjoy a bit of rest and don't fret about the undone chores too much.
