I daren't go until I have used up most of what I bought last year. I don't trust myself to just look.

Too far for me at this time of year - not enough time between pet lamb feeds!

Have a lovely time  :)

Having gone to woolfest, I really wanted to go to this, but we absolutely have to paint the house this weekend!    Have to save it for the one in Brighton later in the year.

Back home now, having spent far too much money but have the pleasure of going through all of my 'finds' later on.

I'm not sure its worth taking picts but this is what I bought
200 gr merino tops, probably going to dye it and use it for felting
2 dyed silk caps for spinning
dyed cotton material, very open weave, to try nuno felting
4 seperate half mtrs of recycled sari silk, also for nuno felting
4 sachets of kool aid for dyeing
a hank of kid mohair to make a scarf/shawl
a couple of knitting patterns that I hope may be suitable for hand spun yarn
a bamboo mat for felting
knitting needle points that screw onto a cable, plus the cable for circular knitting

I've just looked up nuno felting as I hadn't come across it before. It looks interesting and I am looking forward to seeing piccies of whatever you make.

It will be a while before you see pics. I have just booked myself on a course but that's not until end of July.

Sounds like quite a haul!  :excited:

As a newbie to all of this spinning malarkey - what is a 'cap' and 'top' exactly?

A silk cap looks exactly like unstructured cap but you don't wear it, you spin it. The cap has several very fine layers, probably half a dozen or so and you gently pull them apart until you have something you can spin. I make it sound easy don't I?, but trust me it isn't. I haven't been able to master spinning silk yet. The caps aren't dear though. They are sold by the weight and the 2 caps I bought cost me about £4.50 so cheap enough to experiment with.

The tops, well to be honest I haven't got a clue how the name comes about (Sallyinthenorth probably does) but tops are prepared fibre, ready for spinning or felting. I bought broken tops because they were cheaper I.e. broken into smaller pieces rather than one long piece, but as I want it for felting that's fine.

Nope, no clue here either.  Fleecewife?
