orphan lambs
« on: March 24, 2014, 05:20:19 pm »
After a very difficult birth where the first lamb came out head first and legs back and the second one backwards one of our yearling ewes then developed mastitis and the lambs were taken away. Both large ram lambs to be joined by a third from next doors flock.  First attempt at lamb rearing but all three seem to be all right. Our second yearling also had difficult presentations but is happily rearing her twins. Still one to go but atleast the second year ewes have had no problems.

They look very content!  Please can I send you my children too, they are very upset that I have evicted the lamb that was in our kitchen (they are useful at bottle feeding!).
