Hi Everyone,

Just to advertise a theft from a local charity farm park.  They had stolen their araucanas, marsh daisys, polands and partridge pekins last weekend.  The six pekins had only just been put outside.

Please keep your eyes open if you see birds advertised.  As this is a charity it is a real crying shame that people can be so ruthless.  Forfar in Angus area.

Also be aware and keep your own chickens under lock and key!!! Difficult I know.

Hi Mojo,

Hope you are doing well!  Popped in today to see if they had a couple of hatching eggs as my pekin has gone broody and discovered the news.
I was sad as I think they do a really great job educating all those children, not to mention all the hard work they have put in over the years.

Have they got facilities for incubating/brooding? I'd be happy to send them some hatching eggs for free to replace their stock (not that I have any of their breeds) if that would help. I'm guessing others would as well - it sounds like a great cause,

Thanks Hester,

I thought the same but have not had time to contact the main guy!  I am just setting up my incubator and if its successful this year was going to offer some of the hatch.  But eggs might be the way to go.  Will let you know when I make contact. Its definately a good place and does a lot for youngsters.

Just wish I was at Thainstone to check out what was selling - difficult to know if they were being sold there though - no microchips!!!

I am down £6000 plus in thefts of chickens/ducks/geese etc over the years and have never managed to trace any of the birds at all, despite some being very unusual colours as I had been playing with genetics for a number of years to produce them.

I would love to know where they are going as I have looked at the catalogues, attended sales, checked all the poultry for sale websites and never come across anything relating to my birds.

Also have had pigs stolen but have an idea where they went but couldn't prove it.

It disgusts me that people can do this especially when it's for a charity.
