Just had my girls scanned
« on: February 24, 2014, 05:45:43 pm »
After last year's disappointment with the cloudburst I decided to get the girls scanned. Looks like two sets of twins   :excited: I am unbelievably excited
Our holding has Anglo Nubian and British Toggenburg goats, Gotland sheep, Franconian Geese, Blue Swedish ducks, a whole load of mongrel hens and two semi-feral children.

I am hoping to sneak mine in with the ewes when they get scanned at the beginning of next month :innocent:

My girl is huge already and not due until 9th May. I would love to have her scanned but it's so expensive for just one. I'll just have to wait and see.

So exciting! You're lucky, our vet doesn't scan so considering buying one 2nd hand and learning to do it ourselves

Our vet couldn't do it so I got the sheep scanner chap to do it.

As far as I know no one round here scans their sheep or anything else, they just see what they end up with  :-\

Great news K,  :excited:   Just out of interest, how much does it cost to have an animal scanned?

It was an absolute bargain. Normally there is a very high minimum charge but as he was passing he did me on the way home from another job and only charged £5 for the two of them.

Is that all? I think I'll ring my vet and see what it would cost if I took her to the surgery.

Hey Skirza  Yes it is Pea. The scanner did say she might be having triplets but wasn't sure but there are definitely 2 in there. I so want a girl from her to keep as she is such a lovely lady.
