Hello!!!!
« on: February 11, 2014, 10:25:51 pm »
I'm not a farmer really, just a wannabe, still I was born in Portugal a few years ago (let's not get tangled in arithmetic's) into a family where booth grandparents were smallholders back in the day were in Portugal big supermarkets were only to buy what could not be produced at home.
Because my mums parents were of a more serious type of smallholders renting a fairly big amount of land for someone who didn't consider agriculture as their main source of income I end up by growing up farming in the veg garden, on the arable land and attending to animals, I can recall there were times when 2 sows would be having litters at same time and there were also a minimum of 2 cows (working cows) and more often than not there would be 6 cows plus calves.
Poultry was grandmother and my mother's thing many kinds of birds and usually a flock too big to remember
Now I moved away from it a bit over 10 years ago and became a city dweller but now well now I would like to return but can't
Except if anyone has a small farm or smallholding unattended and wants to rent it at an affordable (a.k.a cheap) price then I can start living the life

Hi.   Why not try  volunteering for others who knows where it may lead?  Try HelpX website.
Linda

Don't wrestle with pigs, they will love it and you will just get all muddy.

Let go of who you are and become who you are meant to be.
