Charollais certainly seem to get in the mood earlier up here.  I don't know about Hampshires, but I think as a Down breed they'd probably be earlier too.

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

Yes, I'm sure they would, especially when you consider that most pedigree Hampshire and Charollais flocks lamb straight after Christmas and into new year.

Thankyou all, I dont know if I could bring myself to have him done as he is such a nice ram!

I will try and make up my mind what to do but I think its silly that I will end up with 4 rams for 15 ewes...
so some of them have to go!! and then maybe I get hold of a teaser or sponges later on in the year...
