That's brilliant!!  They are so much better than a caravan, in that you can just get up and go to your next place, without faffing around hitching up etc.  Where we lived with our caravan, was hardstanding, so very popular with these motor homes - no grass to sink into.  We saw some really large vehicles arrive there - posher than houses inside!!

We have been "at home" to various visitor today so not got much done really just moved in a few bit and pieces and made up the bed for to, though someone helped me set up the Tom-Tom which is a special "truckers" one  And I worked out how to work the radio/cd but not the TV -not that I am bothered about that really.

I will get some interior shots when I can.  This morning was full of panic with not being able to open the door, then not being able to switch the alarm off.  So much to learn at present.

The sticking out bits fold in when you are driving then when you stop it expands to give more living space.

Cross posted with you shygirl.

It is left hand drive which isnt ideal for this country, but once we have "done" the UK or at least some of it the intention is to cross the channel sometime in Sept maybe.

i remember when we first got our caravan, we were sooo excited  it was a real banger and not road worthy but we loved it and camped in it for 3 solid months before we got bored.  :roflanim: :roflanim: :roflanim: :roflanim:

We shall certainly see you coming! :roflanim: .  It is fantastic, what fun you are going to have.  Don't think it will fit on our drive, have to butter up the neighbours...

I met a couple who lived in something similar except it was for towing. It attached to a double cab vehicle which had a towing hook installed in the truck part. Talk about luxury. It was wonderful and I was green with envy.

If you ever travel this way, come into the back the front gates might be a little tight (a tractor fits so it might!)

Are you going to take a bike or towing a wee car so once you are parked up you can explore area or nip to shop for pint of milk and park with ease

My drive is long and wide enough if your in arbroath, your more than welcome to stay here

Husband had similar dreams when it was just the two of us and we'd had some amazing holidays in RVs around the world - his dreams continued after the children arrived. Fortunately I persuaded him to hire one for a week with them first - his dreams were shattered after being cooped up with three little ones aged 4, 2 and nearly 1 in the rain and trying to cope with crowded European roads/campsites. I suspect his dreams still linger on for once they've left home though! Have amazing fun and if you need somewhere to park up this side of the channel tunnel, give me a shout - I think you'd just about get into our yard (or if it's dry enough into the field).

Thanks all - after playing with it for a while with it here at home it goes back to the suppliers who are going to fit a hydraulic lift at the back for my mobility scooter.  I had thought of a "smart car" but Iwalk so badly now I still woulndt get anywhere.

Its suck it and see for me at the moment.   :o :o :o

Those lifts are great. I use one for my scooter and it's given me more independence. You are going to have such a great adventure.  ;D
