Santa came early!
« on: December 22, 2013, 05:04:42 pm »
Lovely new Highland foal arrived this morning, by a stallion I really like and tried to breed a filly by myself, but just got colts.  On paper she belongs to my son, William, but I intend to enjoy her too!

Please excuse Hamish Shetland's hairdo, he's been in a gorse bush.

Nice Christmas present  Get her away from that Shetland though - he'll teach her naughty tricks, if he's anything like mine.

I love his hairdo  ;D

;D When she arrived, she was very scared and didn't want to come out of the trailer.  We had to put Hamish in with her, let them make friends, and then lead him out and let her follow.  They were instant friends, it was so sweet.  I have taken him out now though - partly because she needs to listen to me not him, and partly because there is no way he needs any hay or straw more than his teeny measured portion!

Actually, he is a funny wee thing, and does not seem to have any bad habits at all, he is pretty much perfect.  We have had him over a year now, so hopefully we would have discovered them by now, he is worth his weight in gold.

Is that a Rush daughter?  I couldn't see her on Grassroots so not sure who they used after Rush was sold..

If you want a weanling filly for company I've one that is no means scared enough of people, quite the reverse, wee "sweetheart" (first and last letter used in the alternative I used!) just had her 2nd tet and does not appreciate vets and thinks I've turned into my evil twin whenever someone else is present, can't say I blame her but I could do with a wee break from her delightful company!  She does enjoy a full body massage in private, just makes a liar of me whenever she thinks I might be evil twin not bodyslave/feedprovider!

Wish you joy of the new girl anyway :)

Yes Ellie, she is by Rush, she isn't registered yet, forms sent off now though!

Bob's got Glenvale Guardsman now, he was the surprise foal out of Knockandy Abigail, the girl who bought her got a surprise buy one get one free, but he won't have any foals by him for next year, it'll be the year after, so he will have a foal free year 2014.
