Yes, more my sort of thing, I love basic country stuff for the kitchen, my Granddaughter, would love things on the other link, totaly funky, I do too, love gadgets and gimmicks!!! she likes pink/lilac/fluffy, I am looking for bean bags now!!! she wants a chair for her bedroom but those blow up ones "pop" easily so I thought a bean bag would be better, trying to find a nice pink fluffy one, will take a look after escape to the country and my coffee ;D ;D

Got a few bites from last night ::) ::) My Oh took me out for a meal, Red Lion Culross, and after a lovely meal we went for a walk, all that nice food made me have to rush to the outdoor tree toilet!!!!!!!!!! and I got loads of bites, some where it's embarrasing to scratch :-[)Nice meal, very romantic but not too good for me to go for a walk so soon after eating soooooooo :pig:much ::)

Before we moved we had a full size tin bath, I got rid of it as I did not think I would have anywhere to put it!! wish I had it now!! if you had something like that you could sink it down a bit by digging a whole, on second thoughts, that would be hard to clean out if it was sunk, my ducks went into the smaller Zinc bath but I've emptied it now and it is hard for them unless you make a ramp which is not too hard, you could even get an old bath and put a ramp up to it!!!!! if it is off the ground a bit you could drain it easily by pulling the plug and attaching a hose......I suppose you may get luck on freecycle!!!!! I will keep an eye out :o

This is the one I use, but I cut the pears up before I cook them - they cook quicker and are easier to eat.  Anyone know a site to make pretty labels?

SWEET PICKLED PEARS

4 pints pears
1 pound brown sugar
1 cup cider vinegar
1 oz stick cinnamon
whole cloves

Boil sugar, vinegar and cinnamon for 20 minutes.

Stick each pear with cloves.

Put in syrup, and cook until soft.

Cool and store and label jar.

Cut pears in half to use.

I used to use a recipe like this, only I would put a drop of red food coloring in each jar. That made them the sweetest colored pink! So they were called "pink pickled pears".

Lu has loads of them - I'm sure she'd let you have some as they'll go to feed the pigs otherwise.
