Also, Cleveland Bays are warmbloods, sort of, but they are far more laid back than a sportshorse and don't do silly as a rule.  If you want something with speed and suitable for competing, CBx is faster and lighter. But might do silly...

Yes those are amazing looking horses. i dont want fast and and furious eventing horses. they sound my cup of tea. i have native breeds for all my livestock so these should fit in.
i will defo go and see some. i will leave it until the spring but i will keep you informed.

i love the colour. my boy is bay, he moves elegantly and at 16.3 is big and powerful. but i think, and hope, the cb will be something a little different.

 :excited:  Go for it!

Mine are 16.3hh and 17hh.

Cleveland Bays are definitely a bit different to most horses: I agree with others on here, they are more like oversized ponies in character, but they have a very definite nobility about them.  And big lugs.

I once had the luck to ride a stunning CB. He had been one of the queen's horses and he was gelded late (4) when it was discovered that he stringhalted. Despite the late gelding he was an absolute gentleman to ride and even put his head down so that I could reach to put his bridle on - I think he was about 18hh. He moved beautifully and I would happily have a CB.
Our holding has Anglo Nubian and British Toggenburg goats, Gotland sheep, Franconian Geese, Blue Swedish ducks, a whole load of mongrel hens and two semi-feral children.
